L’Anse Kahouanne
Located at the beginning of the village of Pointe des Châteaux in the south-east of Grande Terre, Anse Kahouanne is a beach of choice for a Sunday picnic.
To take advantage of it, we advise you to come early and if possible to avoid Sundays for more tranquillity. It is strongly advised to bring sun cream, protection and all the necessary food.
If you’re lucky, you’ll be able to get a little private space in the shade by the beach.
Take advantage of your visit to Anse Kahouanne and Pointe des Chateaux to go to the Grande Anse or Anse des Salines beach.
L’Anse des Salines
Large white sandy beach protected by a coral reef. Park on the side of the road and walk a little to find a perfect spot on this beach overlooking the sea. The water is often clear and rough despite the presence of the coral reef and the numerous hermit crabs in the vegetation, which will bring you some freshness.
Don’t hesitate to go to the cross at the Pointe des Châteaux.
L’Anse à la Gourde
Approximately 1.2 km long, Anse à la Gourde is located between Pointe à Cabrits to the west and Pointe à la Gourde to the east on the north coast of the Pointe des Châteaux peninsula, 10 km from the centre of Saint-François at a place called Kahouanne. 700 m off the coast of Pointe de la Gourde, there is a rocky islet: the Éperon rock.
Anse à la Gourde, Anse Kahouanne and Anse des Salines are very close, an opportunity to discover them during a long day at Pointe des Chateaux.
Plage des raisins clairs
Bordered by grape trees, this superb white sandy beach is a stone’s throw from the centre of Saint François. With a large car park and food outlets, it is a great place for families and picnics. The swimming is quiet thanks to the coral reef.
Plage de Saint Anne
Lined with restaurants and snack bars, the beach of Sainte Anne stretches for almost a kilometre, the water is clear and calm and the coconut trees will provide the necessary shade to spend the whole day.
With its small, shallow coves, it is an ideal beach for the elderly, small children and people who are not comfortable in the water.
